We are a farm located in the quaint Village of Corrales, outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico. We specialize in exquisite Gypsy Vanner horses. We fell in love with Gypsy Vanners because of their incredible personality and their beauty. Never have we worked with horses that are kinder, more loving, and more beautiful. Our Gypsy Vanners come from the best lineage and have the best training. All of our Vanners are beautiful, calm, loving, and highly skilled.
Braidmor Farm was built through the vision of Susan Armstrong, with the help of her daughter and farm manager, Lauren MacEwen. Susan is a lifetime equestrian coming from Canada where she learned to ride. She moved to Texas in the 1980's where she and her husband joked that a Canadian would teach a Texan to ride and a Texan would teach a Canadian to ski. Susan is a fantastic horse rider and has had a lifelong passion for horses. In the 1990's Susan had a small Quarter Horse farm in New Mexico where she trained and sold horses. In the 2000's, Life took her away from horses for a number of years.
Susan's daughter, Lauren, was raised with horses and riding. She was training horses and people when she was in high school and she competed on her college equestrian team. Both Lauren and Susan had extensive training in dressage with a two time olypian horse trainer, as well as training in Natural Horsemanship.
After the purchase of "Bobby" in 2018, Susan decided that she wanted to rededicate her life to horses, and this time Gypsy Vanners captured her heart and vision. In 2019, she bought an 8 acre farm in Corrales, NM with the vision of creating a Gyspy Vanner training and breeding farm. That same year she bought "Bella", with the intention of breeding her. Bella is a magnificent Gypsy Vanner mare, and in 2021 she had her first foal.
With the official establishment of Braidmor Farm in 2019, Susan began acquiring magnificent horses, both Gypsy Vanners and Quarter Horses with incredible potential. 2021 has brought the next big expansion with the acquisition of two Gypsy Vanner stallions to take our breeding program to the next level, and with the expansion of more land to house our new roping training facility.
Braidmor's show horses are in training with legendary trainer, Taylor Hanes. Horses in residence are in training with our incredible staff trainer, Andrew Burke.
